Pharmacy Students Showcase their Research and Won an Innovative Poster Award at the First CPC, Dubai

A group of bright pharmacy students made a remarkable impact and showcase their innovative research ideas at the First Community Pharmacy Conference (CPC) organized by the IVPN Network and the Emirates Pharmacy Society in Dubai.

Our students Rama Abdalmenem and Maryam Ramadan won the third place in the Innovative Poster Award by their innovative poster “Sentient Shelves: AI-Powered Smart Shelving System for Autonomous Patient Interaction in Community Pharmacies” supervised by Mr. Wahbi Ghaouji.

Students Nour Moustafa and Lean Abdul Fattah participated by a poster titled “Mothers’ experiences and challenges on Insulin pump use among their Diabetic children” supervised by Dr. Subish Palain and Ms. Alaa Faragallah. Students Mohamed El Metwalli, Laith and Ahmed El Metwalli participated by a poster titled “Feasibility of a Pharmacist-Led Smoking Cessation Program within Community Pharmacies in the UAE” supervised by Prof. Sai Boddu. Under supervision of Dr. Sanah Hasan, the students Yomna Tareq, Roaa Mohammed, Taimaa Sufraji and Ithar Elsayed participated by their posters “Pharmacist Opportunities to Improve Public Self-Medicating Practices in the UAE” and “Assessing hormonal contraceptive dispensing and counseling provided by community pharmacists in the United Arab Emirates: a simulated patient study”. Three groups of students also participated in the video competition.

Prof. Abeer Al Ghananeem, the Dean of the college, expressed her immense pride and congratulated the students and the Faculty for their innovative research, clear presentation skills, and scientific insight.
