On the 24th of September, two faculty members from Ajman University, Prof. Sanah Hasan and Dr. Alaa Farajallah led research-focused sessions at the First Emirates Health Services Forum organized by Fujairah Hospital at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Fujairah. The faculty shared insights on the value of and how to effectively conduct qualitative research, and on medication reconciliation practices in the UAE. Additionally, ten students from the varying levels of study in the MSc in Clinical Pharmacy program attended the Forum and participated in the workshops. This forum revolved around enhancing knowledge and transforming practice through lectures covering the management of several disease states, including chronic kidney disease and asthma, and the role of pharmacists in improving patient care. A panel discussion emphasised the importance of pharmacists in leading patient care and shed light on the key challenges faced, and possible strategies pharmacists could implement to successfully manage their patients.
