Adjunct faculty member at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS), Dr. Baraa Hafez, recently delivered a lecture titled “Health and Fasting from a Chemical Perspective” as part of a Ramadan forum organized by the Emirates Chemical Society.
The lecture examined fasting through a biochemical lens, highlighting how metabolic and hormonal changes enhance energy efficiency, support cellular function, and maintain stable blood glucose levels. Dr. Baraa also emphasized the role of key organs and provided practical health guidance for Iftar and Suhoor.
This engagement reflects COPHS’s commitment to advancing scientific awareness and community engagement through the contributions of its adjunct faculty.
