Ajman University Pharmacy Student Completes International Community Pharmacy Rotation at JUST, Jordan
As part of its commitment to fostering globally competent healthcare professionals, Ajman University's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS), in collaboration with the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), recently facilitated an enriching international community pharmacy training experience for a pharmacy student Sedrah Ibrahim in Jordan. Conducted during July 2026 under the course PHA381: Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences III (International Dimension), the two-week experiential learning program provided valuable exposure to contemporary pharmacy practice within a diverse healthcare environment.
Hosted by the Faculty of Pharmacy at JUST, the rotation offered the student a unique opportunity to observe and participate in community pharmacy services within the Jordanian healthcare system. Through hands-on training, the student enhanced practical competencies in patient assessment, medication dispensing, drug interaction screening, medication labelling, inventory control, and expiry-date management, while gaining a deeper understanding of pharmacy operations and patient-centered care. Exposure to a different healthcare culture further broadened the student's perspective, fostering adaptability, cultural competence, and a greater appreciation for the evolving role of pharmacists in improving public health outcomes.
This international rotation reflects the strong partnership between Ajman University and JUST and underscores COPHS's dedication to integrating global perspectives into pharmacy education. By providing opportunities for students to engage in experiential learning across borders, the College continues to prepare graduates who are equipped to meet the demands of increasingly interconnected healthcare systems.
