Ajman University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Demonstrates Research Excellence and Innovation at the 2nd Community Pharmacy Conference in Dubai
On September 12, 2026, the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) at Ajman University demonstrated strong academic and research leadership at the 2nd Community Pharmacy Conference held at the Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in Dubai. Gathering regional healthcare leaders, clinicians, academics, and researchers, the conference served as a key platform to address contemporary priorities and modern advancements in community pharmacy practice.
Senior Instructor Dr. Alaa Farajallah presented a scientific session titled "Community Pharmacy-Based OSCEs to Evaluate Patient Assessment Readiness: Quantitative and Qualitative Insights from Ajman University." Co-authored with Prof. Abeer AlGhananeem and Dr. Subish Palaian, the talk underscored the crucial role of objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs) and competency-based assessments in sharpening clinical decision-making and ensuring students are fully prepared for active practice.
The event featured vibrant participation from both Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Pharmacy students, who presented a total of eight research abstracts across undergraduate and postgraduate divisions, alongside a student performance in the event's talent showcase.
The MSc student Faekah Zabian Alhanich won second place for her study, "Assessment of Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices Regarding Artificial Intelligence Among Pharmacists in the United Arab Emirates." Co-authored with Dr. Ammar Jairoun under the supervision of Prof. Abeer AlGhananeem, the research evaluates the readiness of UAE pharmacists to integrate AI technologies into clinical practice.
Third-year pharmacy student Ilham Moulhem earned First Place in the Undergraduate Research in Progress category for "IPE connect: AI-powered Medication safety for Community Pharmacy”. The award-winning project is supervised by Dr. Nihal Ibrahim, Dr. Subish Palaian, and Dr. Alaa Farajallah.
