DUBAI, UAE, October 1, 2026, Students from the Pharmacy program at Ajman University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) participated in the World Pharmacists Day celebration held at Canadian Specialist Hospital, Dubai under the theme “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures.” The event provided students with an opportunity to engage with healthcare professionals and gain practical exposure to the expanding role of pharmacists in modern healthcare. The celebration brought together pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and students to recognize the vital contributions of pharmacists to patient care and public health. COPHS students actively participated in the event's activities, interacted with healthcare practitioners, and explored professional perspectives on contemporary pharmacy practice.
A highlight of the event was the achievement of Pharmacy student Ilham Moulhem, who was awarded Third Place in the poster competition for her “IPE Connect” application, an application intended to enhance interprofessional collaboration. The recognition reflected her innovation, dedication, and commitment to advancing collaborative healthcare practice.
Participation enabled students to connect classroom learning with real-world pharmacy practice while strengthening their communication, teamwork, and professional networking skills. The experience enhanced their understanding of multidisciplinary healthcare delivery and the significant role pharmacists play in improving patient outcomes and supporting healthier communities.
Prof. Abeer AlGhananeem, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, stated: “World Pharmacists Day provides an excellent platform for our students to engage with the profession beyond the classroom and appreciate the impact pharmacists have on patient care and public health. We are proud of our students’ active participation and especially congratulate Ilham Moulhem on her outstanding achievement. Such experiences strengthen professional confidence, encourage innovation, and prepare our graduates to contribute meaningfully to the future of healthcare.”
The College extends its sincere appreciation to Canadian Specialist Hospital for hosting this meaningful celebration and providing students with a valuable learning and professional development opportunity. The College also acknowledges Ms. Maisaa Shaat, Instructor from COPHS, for supporting and coordinating student participation.
