AJMAN, UAE – Ms. Hanan Al Mheiri, Clinical Training Instructor in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Ajman University and one of the selected Emirati participants in the UAE Healthcare Leadership Development Program, recently completed an educational leadership residency at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA.
The UAE Healthcare Leadership Development Program was launched to empower and prepare future healthcare leaders in the UAE through advanced leadership education, strategic healthcare exposure, and executive mentorship. The program brings together selected healthcare professionals from across the country and is supported through collaborations with leading international institutions, including Harvard Business School, American Hospital Dubai, and Mayo Clinic. The initiative focuses on developing leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, innovation, quality improvement, and transformative healthcare practices that contribute to advancing the UAE healthcare sector.
As part of this prestigious leadership journey, Ms. Al Mheiri participated in an intensive educational residency at Mayo Clinic, one of the world’s leading healthcare institutions. The residency provided participants with a unique opportunity to explore global best practices in healthcare leadership, patient-centered care, organizational excellence, innovation, quality improvement, and healthcare transformation.
During her time at Mayo Clinic, Ms. Al Mheiri engaged in a comprehensive curriculum focusing on Mayo Clinic’s organizational values and patient-centered care model, leadership development strategies, quality and patient safety initiatives, healthcare innovation, and the integration of emerging technologies, including Generative Artificial Intelligence, in healthcare practice and research.
Reflecting on the experience, Ms. Al Mheiri said: "This experience was truly transformative.
