As part of its commitment to community engagement and health education, the Nursing Department at Ajman University, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS), organized an educational outreach visit to Ahliyah Private School on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
The visit was conducted by second-year nursing students accompanied by Dr. Wafa Khasawneh from the Nursing Department, along with members of the Nursing Club at Ajman University. The activity was organized as part of the Health Education course, aiming to enhance students’ communication skills, encourage active participation in community awareness initiatives, and educate school students about the importance of vital signs and their role in maintaining health and early detection of medical conditions.
During the visit, the nursing students delivered an engaging educational session introducing the nursing profession, its essential role in healthcare, and the academic experience of studying nursing at Ajman University. The students explained the importance of assessing vital signs and their role in monitoring health status. The session also included interactive discussions and activities that encouraged school students to participate, ask questions, and learn more about the nursing profession in an enjoyable and informative environment.
The initiative reflected Dr. Wafa Khasawneh’s continuous dedication, supervision, and encouragement of students to engage with the community and apply health education principles beyond the classroom setting. The experience provided nursing students with a valuable opportunity to strengthen their leadership, communication, and public education skills while positively representing Ajman University within the community.
The Nursing Department also extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Abeer AlGhananeem, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, for her continuous encouragement and support of student-led educational and community engagement initiatives.
The Nursing Department extends its appreciation to the administration of Ahliyah Private School for their warm welcome and support in making this educational visit a successful and meaningful experience.
