Approach to Community Organization
Course Description

This course explores the means and methods of community organization in terms of its concept, historical origin and development, the philosophy it is based upon, its objectives and purposes, its main principles, the tools, means, and methods used in this respect, and its relation to other means and methods of community service. In addition to the aforementioned, this course explores local society as a working unit in terms of community organization, the methods and devices used in terms of conducting community organization, professional intervention in terms of community organization and that, in terms of the knowledge related to professional intervention, being its purposes and objectives, strategies, and the roles assumed by the community organizer. Furthermore, this course explores the theories suitable for application in terms of community organization with respect to working with the local social institutions. This course explores various models for practicing community organization all the while focusing on the development of the local society, as well as examples on social problems and the role of community organization in terms of identifying such problems, and the processes of leadership and volunteering in terms of community organization.
