This course introduces students to intensive analysis of theory and research on the diagnosis and treatment of behavioural disorders. They will learn the causes and assessment of the common and more refractory disorders, including substance-related disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, trauma, and eating disorders. This course also includes methods of intervention for these problems, including pharmacotherapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy. Also, the course will highlight some issue such as the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical settings and its ethical implications, the role of sustainability in healthcare practices.
