Course Description
This course aims to provide students with in-depth knowledge and provide them with various skills in the fields of educational assessment and evaluation for them to employ the knowledge and skills they attain in constructing and correcting exams in the specialty subject. To achieve this, this course addresses the basic concepts in educational assessment, types of assessment: diagnostic, formative, and summative. The course will also focus on the types of tests, such as diagnostic tests, achievement tests, performance tests, objective and essay tests and their types: circle, true- false, fill in the blank, matching, short answer, long answer, and open answer types. The students will also gain knowledge about the characteristics of good tests, psychometric properties of tests, and the steps to build and design tests according to the required specifications. The course wraps up with an exploration of tests’ correction, analysis, and interpretations of their results.
