Ajman University organized the first Literary Salon under the supervision of the Student Counseling Unit at the University in October in the presence of Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor and a number of professors, students and lovers of literature and literary affairs. The panel included Dr. Bilal Zakarneh, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​at Ajman University, Dr. Marilyn Allen, Professor of English Literature at the UAE University, Dr Mohammed Nassor, Head Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ajman University, Professor Stephen Zinni of the American University in Ras Al Khaimah and Dr. Hala Sharkas, Professor of Translation at the University of Ajman Emirates.

 

The discussion dealt with the novel "Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho, where the panel discussed the novel and its themes and characters in addition to the elements of Arabic culture. The University also indicated that it would hold this literary saloon every Tuesday of the third week of each month in order to foster the cultural value of the University and to disseminate the importance of reading among students.
