Ajman University Contributes to National GreenED Initiative for Sustainable Higher Education

Ajman University proudly participated in the Green Education (GreenED) Committee Meeting, an initiative led by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in collaboration with prominent institutions of higher education across the country.

Prof. Fares M. Howari represented the university in this pivotal meeting, expressing pride in contributing to an initiative that serves as a comprehensive roadmap for embedding sustainability principles within higher education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

The GreenED initiative is closely aligned with the UAE’s ambitious Net Zero 2050 goals and global climate neutrality commitments. It reflects the national leadership’s forward-looking vision of extending the Year of Sustainability into 2024, thereby accelerating the momentum toward a greener and more resilient future.

The workshop provided a dynamic platform for dialogue, emphasizing practical strategies for integrating sustainability into academic curricula and research frameworks. Roundtable discussions further highlighted actionable steps for transforming educational institutions into engines of climate responsibility and innovation.

Ajman University remains committed to sustainability-focused education and research, and is proud to contribute to national and global efforts in shaping a more sustainable future through meaningful academic engagement and institutional leadership.
