The Psychology Department at Ajman University organized the Third Psychology Department Symposium 2026 under the theme “Challenge and Opportunity” on February 2, 2026. The event brought together psychology students and faculty members in a dynamic academic setting aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and exploring contemporary issues in the field.
The symposium was held under the leadership of Fares Howari, Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences, and Rasha Abdelrahman, Head of the Psychology Department. The sessions were moderated by Marei Ahmed, who effectively facilitated the program and guided the academic discussions.
The scientific program featured three distinguished speakers who addressed key psychological themes:
Khadija Ouadi presented on the clinical effectiveness of integrative psychological programs for individuals with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease, highlighting evidence-based therapeutic approaches and outcomes.
Manal Lamouine explored the relationship between musical experience and executive control, drawing on behavioral and neurophysiological findings from cross-cultural studies conducted in Morocco and the United States.
Othman Alfuqaha discussed psychological burnout among healthcare professionals, focusing on risk factors, assessment tools, and intervention strategies within healthcare environments.
The symposium witnessed strong engagement from attendees, with active participation reflected in thoughtful questions and meaningful discussions. The event played a significant role in enriching students’ academic experiences, enhancing research awareness, and strengthening international academic collaboration.
