| Abstract |
LegalAssist is a new AI-based legal assistant that is exclusively targeted at legal professionals within the United Arab Emirates. This documentation report covers both the development of the midterm progress phase to final implementation including major architectural development, large-scale feature development and deployment to production. The application uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash to conduct law research, Node.js/Express backend framework and MongoDB to store data in a secure way. Continuing on the basis of the authentication, AI chat, and document management options developed during the midterm, the final implementation will feature 45 or more additions such as enhanced document management features, team collaboration options, administration settings, customization of the chat, encrypted messages, and extensive export options. The system has been through the intensive security test that has shown it to be resistant to injection attacks, has Level AA accessibility standards as per WCAG 2.1, and is bilingual with ease between Arabic and English. The most important goals are accomplished; the platform is ready to go into production and be presented to the UAE legal professionals and a complete roadmap is defined on the post-graduation improvements and scaling. |
