Abstract
This project presents the development of a Smart Bus Tracking System designed to enhance the safety, reliability, and efficiency of school transportation. The system consists of three main components, namely a Parent Application, a Nanny Application, and an Admin Panel, all integrated using Firebase Firestore and Realtime Database to ensure real-time synchronization of data. The applications were developed using Android Studio, while Firebase services were utilized for authentication, database management, and live updates.
The system allows parents to monitor the real-time location of their child’s school bus, receive important notifications, and communicate directly with the assigned nanny. The nanny application provides operational tools that enable staff to manage trips, track student attendance, send alerts, and ensure that all students are accounted for before ending a trip. The admin panel provides centralized control over all system components, allowing administrators to manage students, buses, nannies, and trips efficiently.
Several key features were implemented to improve safety and communication, such as GPS-based tracking, geofencing alerts, real-time messaging, attendance validation, and an emergency SOS alert system. By integrating these features into a single platform, the system addresses common problems in traditional school transportation and provides a modern, reliable solution.
