This course offers a comprehensive examination of the principles and practices of special education and inclusive education in contemporary learning environments. It critically explores the philosophical, legal, and ethical foundations of inclusion, equipping educators with the knowledge to advocate for and implement equitable learning opportunities for all students. Learners will differentiate among various categories of disabilities and learning differences, and apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to create accessible, responsive, and supportive classroom environments. The course also provides hands-on experience on selecting and evaluating assessment tools, and applying evidence-based instructional strategies—enhanced by technologies—to address the diverse needs of learners with disabilities. Through reflective practice and applied learning, students will be empowered to lead inclusive educational change.
