As part of encouraging student participation and leadership, the celebration also featured a special lecture delivered by Basem Nasser, a third-year student in the College of Business Administration and captain of Ajman University’s football team, titled “The Relationship Between Sports and Mental Health.”
Basem discussed the positive impact of physical activity on emotional resilience, stress reduction, and overall mental well-being. Drawing on both research and his own athletic experience, he emphasized how regular sports participation can improve mood, build discipline, and foster teamwork—key elements of psychological health.
His talk was dynamic, engaging, and well-received, sparking an active dialogue among attendees about the importance of integrating physical wellness into daily life.
The Department of Psychology extends heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Dalia, Director of the Student Counselling Unit, Dr. Hala Martini, Ms. Duaa Al-Salti, and Ms. Hajar for their excellent organization and dedication to the success of this event.
The collaboration between the Department of Psychology and the Student Counselling Center reflects Ajman University’s ongoing commitment to promoting mental health, fostering community engagement, and supporting student well-being across campus.
