Ajman University Students Take an Emotional Trip to Tawam Hospital

The Community Services Department at Ajman University of Science & Technology undertakes initiatives that encourage and instill the students with the value of giving back to the society. Aligned with this aim it commemorated the World Cancer day by organizing an emotional trip to Tawam Hospital.

16 male students hailing from different Colleges at Ajman University along with student activities officer, Noor Al Chaghouri ,visited the cancer patients, bearing gifts and cheerful wishes they talked and played with the 26 young patients whose age ranged from newborn to 12 years.

Dr. Abdul Haq Al Nuaimi, Director, Department of Community Services stressed that such days are marked around the world to raise awareness about cancer and encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. Students at Ajman University enjoy a comprehensive experience which surpasses the realm of academia into the very fabric of their lives. Students expressed their moving experiences of seeing innocent children battling for with a formidable enemy – Cancer.

World Cancer Day is a unique opportunity to raise awareness that there is much that can be done at an individual, community and institutional level, to harness and mobilize solutions and catalyze a positive change in attitude towards this disease.
