Ajman University Inducts Freshmen to AUST Experience

Ajman University extended its warmest welcome to the freshmen enrolled for the academic year 2016-2017, in its true AUST style. The orientation day is a celebration on campus and the new students are inducted to the unique experience of educational excellence offered by Ajman University.

After the ceremony was officiated with the patriotic national anthem and beautiful verses from the Holy Quran, Dr. Khalid Al Khaja, Acting Chancellor, Ajman University and Vice Chancellor for Academic and Administrative Affairs welcomed the freshmen and their parents and delivered the University speech. He congratulated the students on their successful enrollment and wished them success at AUST. He reiterated, “We are fully aware that, as students new to this university in particular and to university life in general, you are bound to have questions. For this reason, we have built our New Student Orientation Programme around you, so that you can find answers to your questions and gain some valuable insights into what our university has to offer in terms of facilities, resources, programmes, faculties and departments, and all other services. Our Orientation Day will provide you with a lot of information and tips; it will afford you the opportunity to learn how to navigate the campus and build a network of resources that will help you start off your AUST journey on the right foot

Dr. Abdul Haq Al Nuaimi, Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and Community Services, welcomed them and introduced them to their respective deans. He encouraged them to reap the maximum benefit from their educational tenure and experience at Ajman University. He wished them the best of life and excellence in education.

Pearls of advice from parents were shown to new students, about achieving success in their academic life. Along with promotional videos that depicted the student life and the multitude of nationalities at Ajman University.

Today’s orientation coincides with the Emarati Women Day, to celebrate this day AUST invited Mrs. Khadeeja AL Raeesi, Director General, Al Ajmani Charity Foundation to speak about her experiences, she is an alumnus of Ajman University, a mother and  a homemaker whilst holding memberships in Lawyers Association UAE and Youth Ambassador program. She encouraged students to be positive and optimistic in life, to learn from their failures and to manage their time efficiently.

An extraordinary segment at the event witnessed cheers and applause when students got a chance to win valuable gifts on answering questions. This year’s celebration was all the more special because 8 lucky new students happen to have been born on this day, 28th August, to celebrate this day, AUST community presented them gifts and sang for them.

The orientation concluded with tour of the campus and its facilities under the supervision of their respective colleges. Students who wish to see the Emirates of Ajman will be given a special tour of the city and its landmarks.
