Census Seminar Organized at Fujairah Campus

A seminar on population census was organized by the College of Mass Communication and Humanities at Ajman University, Fujairah Campus, in partnership with Fujairah Statistics Center, a public department affiliated with the government of Fujairah Emirate.

Faculty members and students of the College of Mass Communication & Humanities at Fujairah Campus attended the seminar, and it revolved around Fujairah Emirate's experience with census operations and population surveys over the years since the Statistics Center's launch in 2009. Fatima Al Zahmi, head of the Geographical Information System department, gave the main presentation and it focused on the ongoing project of updating Fujairah Emirate's data related to the population, residences, and establishments since the census process is considered to be the chief source for such information which also plays a key role in underpinning government planning.

The Statistics Center was also represented by Mr. Aamir Al Omari, in charge of economic statistics, and Mr. Ali Al Fadil Hassan, in charge of residential and social statistics.
