AUST celebrates 1931 graduates
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Ajman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University of Science and Technology, AUST is celebrating on Tuesday, 14th October 2014, the graduation of the tenth batch under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE. This commencement ceremony is the 23rd since the inception of the university.
The slogan for this class of 2014 is “Thank You, Khalifa”, in tribute to the landmark achievements and remarkable development the UAE has undergone under Sheikh Khalifa. The country has witnessed record growth and carved a niche for itself as a leader of economic development in the region and the world.
Wednesday, 15th October 2014 will mark the day female graduates will enjoy their commencement ceremony under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Zayed Bin Saqr Al Nahyan, wife of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman.
The keynote speech for both ceremonies will be given by Major Amina Al Baloushi, a proud alumni of AUST, who currently serves as the President of Policewomen Association. She also serves as a trainer and lecturer at the Ministry of Interior, Abu Dhabi Police College. Major Amina earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ajman University and is currently a third-year Ph.D student at Cardiff University, Wales. She received several local, regional and international awards as outstanding police officer.
Preparations are underway at full swing to host the two ceremonies at Ajman Campus. This year, the graduating students represent 47 nationalities. A especially dedicated website commencement.ajman.ac.ae has been put in place and houses all the relevant information for the graduates. It provides a social board to facilitate a two-way communication between the University and the graduates and encourages them to post their comments and remarks on all social media channels.
Hashtag #austgrad14 brings all the social media communication onboard the website for public viewing. Students have been fervently posting their memories and congratulatory messages.
The number of graduates at Fujairah campus is 559, while in Ajman campus the number is 1372, bringing the total number of graduates since 1988 to 29000 alumni.
Fujairah Campus will celebrate the graduation of their Thank You Khalifa Class on 21st and 22nd of October 2014, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah.
