The Office of Student Housing, in collaboration with the Office of Medical Services, hosted an educational event titled “Hands-On Breast Self-Examination: A Life-Saving Practice” at the AU Female Hostel, as part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote reproductive health among female students.
This interactive session provided participants with essential knowledge and hands-on training in breast self-examination techniques, enabling them to recognize early signs of breast abnormalities. Medical professionals emphasized the importance of regular self-checks and encouraged participants to seek further guidance and practice at the Medical Services Clinic, reinforcing the value of proactive health monitoring.
The session also featured pink-themed refreshments, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere, and participants received certificates of attendance in recognition of their engagement. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in empowering students, promoting health literacy, and building a compassionate, health-conscious community on campus.
