As part of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the AU Women Empowerment Council, in collaboration with the Office of Medical Services, the Ministry of Health organized an awareness session titled “Hands-On Breast Self-Examination (BSE): A Life-Saving Practice” on October 21, 2025, at the Medical Clinic, Student Hub.
The event provided an open and supportive platform for dialogue on women’s sexual and reproductive health, helping to break social barriers and encourage open discussions on sensitive yet vital health topics. Participants engaged in practical, hands-on training on BSE techniques, empowering them with the confidence and knowledge to promote early detection and prevention. An educational video was also presented to enhance understanding and reinforce key learning points.
The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from students and staff and featured both group and one-to-one training sessions on BSE techniques.
Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals on Health and Well-being, the program reaffirmed Ajman University’s commitment to empowering women and fostering a healthy, informed, and inclusive campus community. The event concluded with pink-themed refreshments, symbolizing unity, compassion, and the collective effort to fight breast cancer.
