In collaboration with Emirates Health Services (EHS), the Office of Medical Services at Ajman University proudly hosted an awareness session as part of the National Preconception Care Campaign on 11.11.2025 at 11 am. This initiative is designed to empower female university students with knowledge about maintaining optimal health and wellness before pregnancy, ensuring safer pregnancies and healthier infants. We were honored to have Dr. Lujain Muteb Abdulkrim, Family Physician at the Ministry of Health (MOH), who shared valuable insights on the importance of early preparation for motherhood.

Key Highlights from the Session

  • Female reproductive health: Understanding the natural changes in a woman’s body and how lifestyle choices affect fertility and long-term wellness, stressing the importance of proactive wellness strategies during university years.
  • Sexual health awareness: Promoting safe practices, respect for cultural values, and the importance of informed decisions in planning for future families.
  • Nutrition and wellness: The role of balanced diets, exercise, and mental health in preparing for pregnancy.
  • Preconception medical check-ups: Why early screenings and consultations are essential for preventing complications.
  • Healthy family planning: Guidance on preparing emotionally, physically, and socially for the responsibilities of parenthood, linking reproductive health to broader societal well-being

This initiative reflects Ajman University’s commitment to fostering a knowledge-based culture of health awareness among its students. By addressing the sexual and reproductive lives of female students within a respectful and culturally appropriate framework, the campaign contributes to the development of an informed generation capable of making sound health decisions. The event reinforced the university’s role as a partner in national health strategies, aligning with broader efforts to enhance maternal and child health outcomes.

The session was well received, with active student participation and appreciation for the opportunity to learn about such an important aspect of women’s health.
