Tuesday, Nov 25, 2025
Type of Activity: Community awareness - Targeted group approach
Organizer office: Health Services

In recognition of Movember, the global health campaign dedicated to raising awareness about male sexual and reproductive health issues including prostate cancer, mental health, and overall wellbeing, the Office of Medical Services (OMS) in collaboration with Saudi German Hospital, Ajman organized a focused awareness session exclusively for Ajman University’s male community members, titled: “Prostate Disease and Management”, delivered by Dr. Ahmed Al Hindawi, Specialist Urology at Saudi German Hospital, Ajman.

Movember, symbolized by the iconic moustache, began as a small initiative encouraging men to grow moustaches each November to spark conversation around men’s health. Today, it has evolved into a worldwide movement that encourages men to take charge of their health, break stigma, and engage in early detection and prevention efforts.

The session provided valuable insights into prostate health, early warning signs of disease, screening methods, and management options. Participants appreciated the opportunity for private, individualized free consultations, enabling them to discuss concerns openly in a comfortable and confidential setting.

Through this initiative, AU continues to promote proactive health practices and empower men's good health and well-being. The event reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to fostering a healthier campus community and supporting open dialogue about sexual health.
