The Office of Students Housing conducted a Residents’ Engagement Session for female hostel residents as part of Ajman University’s efforts to strengthen communication, enhance student support, and improve the overall living experience in the hostels. The gathering, titled “New Residents’ Meet and Greet Featuring the Dean of Student Services,” brought together representatives from various university departments to share important updates, present available services, and listen to residents’ feedback and suggestions for further development. The session began with a presentation from Sheikha Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, who delivered a comprehensive brief on Ajman University’s history, mission, vision, and major achievements. She also highlighted the university’s key academic programs and the wide range of student support services available, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to building a positive and enriching learning environment. Following this, Dr. Fetta provided an overview of the on-campus medical clinic, explaining the available health services, emergency procedures, and clinic working hours, ensuring students are aware of the medical support accessible to them. Dr. Dalia Bedewy then presented the role of the Counseling Unit in supporting students academically, psychologically, and socially. She clarified how students can seek help, the types of counseling available, and the unit’s ongoing mission to promote student well-being. This was followed by a detailed presentation by Eng. Leena Taifour, who introduced the initiatives of the Hostel Creative Team and the Students Housing plans for Fall Semester 2025–2026. She highlighted the team’s involvement in organizing activities, producing media content, and supporting student engagement within the hostels. A new unit led by student Dana Taha was also introduced, dedicated to empowering female residents through workshops, awareness campaigns, and creative community programs. Additionally, Eng. Leena presented the completed achievements of the Office of Students Housing and outlined upcoming initiatives designed to enhance hostel life. Residents were then invited to share their feedback and suggestions. Their input reflected a strong interest in activities that promote community bonding and student well-being. Proposals included organizing a marathon event for dorm students and hosting a Ramadan Group Iftar. Overall, the Residents’ Engagement Session served as a valuable platform for open dialogue between students and university representatives. It strengthened understanding of available services, showcased ongoing development efforts, and provided meaningful insights to guide future improvements.
