On the occasion of the International Day of Education, the Counseling Unit organized a symposium on January 22, 2026, under the theme “AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation.” The event explored the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and education, emphasizing ethical engagement, critical thinking, and human-centered learning. Sessions included When Technology Listens: Creating Inclusive Classrooms in the Age of AI, Redefining the Role of Education in an AI World, Smart Classrooms, Strong Minds: Keeping Humanity at the Center of Learning, and What AI Can’t Replace: Creativity, Curiosity, and Human Imagination.

Speakers from various universities shared diverse perspectives, providing valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into education. The symposium reaffirmed the Counseling Unit’s commitment to fostering a balanced educational environment that combines technological innovation with essential human values.
