Type of Activity: workshop
Organizer office: Center For Inclusive Learning
The Center for Inclusive Learning organized a staff development session titled “Proctors for Inclusion” to strengthen inclusive examination practices and enhance support for students of determination during exams. The session was delivered by Dr. Dalia Bedewy, the Director of the Center for Inclusive Learning, alongside Ms. Samah Abusniemah, Psychological Counselor.
The training aimed to equip proctors with the skills and awareness needed to support students with disabilities with empathy, professionalism, and respect, while ensuring an accessible and reassuring examination environment. Participants explored effective communication approaches, appropriate accommodations, and the important role proctors play in reducing anxiety, fostering confidence, and promoting equal opportunities for all students.
The session also supports Ajman University’s broader commitment to inclusion through the “From Assistance to Independence: Digital Exam Inclusion Initiative,” which aims to empower students with visual disabilities through accessible digital examination practices and greater independence.
