The Female Hostel Organizes a Hag Al Laila Celebration

The Female Hostel at Ajman University organized a Hag Al Laila celebration on 3 February 2026 at the Female Hostel reception area, providing hostel-residing students with an engaging cultural experience that highlighted Emirati heritage and traditions while supporting student wellbeing and community engagement, in line with selected UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

The event featured a specially designed corner titled “Dukkan Al Tayebeen,” where a variety of traditional sweets and chocolates were distributed alongside simple, customized giveaways. The space was thoughtfully decorated in a traditional Emirati style, incorporating Arabic seating that reflected the UAE’s culture of hospitality. Traditional Hag Al Laila music was played throughout the celebration, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

The celebration also included photo opportunities, allowing students to capture memorable moments and strengthen social connections within the residential community. Overall, the event contributed to Good Health and Well-Being by fostering a positive social environment and Sustainable Cities and Communities, through the preservation and celebration of local cultural traditions within the hostel setting.
