Thursday, Oct 01, 2026
Type of Activity: Health Awareness, CPR Training and Hands-on Learning
Organizer office: Health Services

In observance of World Heart Day 2026, the Office of Medical Services (OMS), Ajman University, organized an interactive hands-on CPR awareness activity aimed at promoting cardiovascular health, emergency preparedness, and lifesaving skills across the AU community. The initiative brought together students and staff in an engaging learning environment focused on building confidence to respond effectively during a medical emergency.

The activity provided practical learning on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), including chest compressions, emergency response procedures, and the appropriate use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). CPR simulators and training manikins were integrated into the session, providing participants with a realistic and engaging platform to practise chest compressions and emergency response techniques. Through demonstrations and guided practice, participants gained a better understanding of the importance of early intervention when a person suddenly collapses.

The session highlighted the importance of recognizing a medical emergency, calling for emergency assistance, initiating CPR, and continuing appropriate lifesaving measures until professional help arrives. Participants were encouraged to overcome hesitation and develop the confidence to take immediate action when needed.

Strong community participation and active engagement contributed to the success of the initiative, reinforcing the importance of practical health education within the university environment. Certificates of Participation were awarded to attendees in recognition of their active engagement in the training.

Through this initiative, Ajman University continues to strengthen its culture of health, safety, and community well-being through meaningful health promotion and experiential learning opportunities. The activity reflects the Office of Medical Services’ commitment to collaborative health initiatives that empower students and staff with practical knowledge and lifesaving skills that can help protect lives.
