Your First Steps: Adapting and Belonging at University

As part of Orientation Week, the Counseling Unit hosted a workshop titled: “Your First Steps: Adapting and Belonging at University” on January 14, 2026, led by Dr. Shorouk Abou Dahr, assistant professor, College of Humanities and Sciences. The workshop addressed the challenges students face when adapting to university life and finding a sense of belonging in a new academic environment. Dr. Abou Dahr highlighted strategies for building connections, managing expectations, and embracing the university community. Attendees gained practical tools to support their transition and start their journey at Ajman University with confidence.
