Admissions Requirements

For the applicant to be eligible for admission into a graduate program, he/she must hold a Bachelor's/Master's degree issued in the UAE or an equivalent degree approved by the Ministry of Education in the UAE
Full Admission
Full Admission To Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching program, Master's degree programs, and Doctorate's degree programs, the applicants are required to upload clear scans of the following required documents:
Academic documents:
  1. Official Bachelor's / Master's university transcripts and graduation certificates certified by the appropriate authorities with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0, or it's equivalent.

  2. An Equivalency Certificate obtained from the UAE Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division for Bachelor’s/Master's degrees from universities outside the UAE.

  3. A valid Certificate of proficiency test in English:

    • For all (Master /Doctorateprograms) taught in English: (English EmSAT) with a minimum score of 1400 or (6.0 IELTS academic or TOEFL (ITP)score of 550) or its equivalent.

    • For Doctorate of Philosophy in Law (English EmSAT) with a minimum score of 1100 in or( 5.0 IELTS academic or TOEFL (ITP)score of 500) or its equivalent.

    • For the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching program and all master programs taught in Arabic: (English EmSAT) with a minimum score of 950 or (4.5 IELTS academic or TOEFL (ITP)score of 450) or its equivalent

General Documents:
  1. A valid colored passport copy with a valid residence

  2. A valid colored UAE national ID copy

  3. A valid certificate of good conduct is issued by the official authorities.

  4. Recent colored photograph size (3×4)

  5. Status of UAE National Service or exemption of the Military National Service (for UAE Male applicants).

  6. CV and experience certificate if available.

  7. Two recommendation letters.

Then:

  • Pay the application fee Click here for more information.

  • Pay 21,000 AED a non-refundable fee deposit online to reserve your seat in the master's programs offered by the College of Dentistry within the date specified in the acceptance letter. Click here for more information

  • Pay a 15,000 AED Deposit online to reserve your seat for(DBA), Click here for more information.

  • Pass the interview for the Master's programs offered by the College of Dentistry, the Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacy program, and for Doctor of Business Administration )DBA) program.

  • Kuwaiti Nationals applicants must attach a copy of the Kuwaiti Embassy Approval

Conditional admission

All documents above must be submitted and conditional admission to the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Master's programs may be granted in the following cases:

Conditional admission based on the CGPA

  • If the bachelor's CGPA is between 2.5 and 2.99. Students may admit conditionally, students under this category must achieve by the end of the conditional admission period a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (for a 6 credit hour of study).

  • If the bachelor's CGPA is between 2.0 and 2.49. Students may be admitted conditionally, students under this category must achieve by the end of the condition period CGPA 3.0 for a maximum of nine hours graduate-level as remedial preparation for the graduate program (These remedial courses are not for credit within the degree program)

Conditional admission based on the score of the English Language Proficiency

The applicant with a minimum score of 1250 in English EmSAT or(5.5 IELTS academic or TOEFL (ITP)score of 530 or its equivalent (if the desired program is taught in English) OR, the applicant for programs taught in Arabic who does not have the required score in the English language proficiency test.

Students admitted conditionally under this category are required to:

  1. Take a maximum of six credit hours in the first semester of study, not including intensive English courses

  2. Achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its established equivalent, in the first six credit hours of credit-bearing courses studied for the graduate program

  3. Achieve a minimum score of 1400 in English EmSAT or its equivalent (if the desired program is taught in English), by the end of the conditional admission period. whereas they must achieve a minimum score of 950 in English EmSAT or its equivalent (if the desired program is taught in Arabic), by the end of the conditional admission period.

NOTES:

  • Applicants for the master’s programs English-taught may be exempted from the requirement to submit a certificate of English proficiency only for those who undertook all their schooling (K-12) plus a Bachelor's degree in English in a reference English speaking country (e.g. UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand).

  • Applicants for the (DBA), program may be exempted from the requirement to submit a certificate of English proficiency 0nly if they have studied Master's degree programs taught in English that required for admission a score of 1400 in English EmSAT or its equivalent.

  • Institutional TOEFL score is considered only when the test is taken at an AMIDEAST UAE center

  • Applicants who applied for the equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education but did not complete the equivalency process by the time of registration will be allowed to register provided that they sign a conditional admission contract and they must submit a copy of the Ministry of Education application receipt.

  • Unattested scans will be accepted to start the application process. However, applicants will be required to show attested original documents in person before enrolling at AU.

  • Other requirements might apply. The Office of Admission and Registration has the right to request any supporting documents

  • The decision to admit an applicant is made on a competitive basis, considering the number of available seats as determined by the individual college and the applicant's final CGPA.
