Admissions Requirements

For the applicant to be eligible for admission to a graduate program, he must hold a Bachelor's/Master's degree issued in the UAE or an international equivalent as approved by the UAE Ministry of Education.
Admission
Full Admission To Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Master's degree programs, the applicants are required to upload clear scans of the following required documents:
  1. Official university transcripts and graduation certificates certified by the appropriate authorities with a minimum CGPA 3.0 on a scale of 4.0, or its equivalent
  2. An Equivalency Certificate obtained from the UAE Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division for undergraduate degrees from universities outside the UAE.
  3. Colored valid passport scan with a valid residence.
  4. Colored valid UAE national ID scan (for UAE nationals and residents)
  5. A valid certificate of good conduct issued by the official authorities.
  6. Status of UAE National Service or exemption of the Military National Service (UAE Male applicants).
  7. Recent passport-size colored photograph.
  8. CV and experience certificate if available.
  9. Two recommendation letters.
  10. Medical check-up.
  11. A valid Certificate of (one year internship) for MSc in Pediatric Dentistry, MSc in Endodontics, MSc in Restorative Dentistry.
  12. A valid Certificate of proficiency test in English:
    • For all Master programs taught in English: (English EmSAT) with a minimum score of 1400 or its equivalent, applicants for master programs taught in English may be exempted from the English proficiency requirement only to those students who undertook all their schooling (K-12) plus a Bachelor's degree in English in a reference English speaking country (e.g. UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand).
    • For the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching program and all master programs taught in Arabic: (English EmSAT) with a minimum score of 950 or its equivalent.
  13. A minimum score of 1250 in (Arabic EmSAT) for all Graduate programs taught in Arabic.

And then:

  • Submit an online application with the required documents.
  • Pay the application fee of 2000 AED + 5% VAT
  • Pass the interview for the Master programs of Science in Restorative Dentistry, Master of Science in Endodontics, Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry, and Master's of Science in Pharmacy.

NOTE:

  • Other requirements might apply. The Office of Admission and Registration has the right to request any supporting documents.
  • Unattested scans will be accepted to start the application process. However, applicants will be required to show attested original documents in person before enrolling at AU.
  • Applicants who applied for the equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education but did not complete the equivalency process by the time of registration will be allowed to register provided that they sign a conditional admission contract and they must submit a copy of the Ministry of Education application receipt.
  • The decision to admit an applicant is made on a competitive basis, considering the number of available seats as determined by the individual college and the applicant's final CGPA.
Conditional admission may be granted with the following cases:
  1. A cumulative GPA between 2.5 and 2.99. Students admitted under the conditional category must achieve by the end of the condition period a minimum CGPA 3.0 (for a maximum of 9 credit hours of study).
  2. A cumulative GPA between 2.0 and 2.49. Students admitted under the conditional category must achieve by the end of the condition period CGPA 3.0 for a maximum of nine hours graduate-level as remedial preparation for the graduate program (These remedial courses are not for credit within the degree program).
    Or:
  3. A minimum score of 1250 in English EmSAT or its equivalent (if the desired program is taught in English). Students admitted under this category are required to:
    1. Take a maximum of six credit hours in the first semester of study, not including intensive English courses
    2. Achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its established equivalent, in the first six credit hours of credit-bearing courses studied for the graduate program
    3. Achieve a minimum score of 1400 in English EmSAT or its equivalent, by the end of the condition period.
Full admission to a Doctorate's degree programs, the applicants are required to upload clear scans of the following required documents:
  1. Official Bachelor's and Master's university transcripts and graduation certificates certified by the appropriate authorities with a minimum CGPA 3.0 on a scale of 4.0, or it's equivalent.
  2. An Equivalency Certificate obtained from the UAE Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division for Master degrees from universities outside the UAE.
  3. Colored valid passport scan with a valid residence.
  4. Colored valid UAE national ID scan (for UAE nationals and residents)
  5. A valid certificate of good conduct issued by the official authorities.
  6. Status of UAE National Service or exemption of the Military National Service (UAE Male applicants).
  7. Recent passport-size colored photograph.
  8. CV and experience certificate if available.
  9. Two recommendation letters.
  10. A valid certificate of proficiency test in English:
    • A minimum score of 1400 in (English EmSAT) for (for DBA) except for applicants who have studied Master's degree programs taught in English that required for admission a score of 1400 in English EmSAT or its equivalent.
    • A minimum score of 1100 in (English EmSAT) for (for Doctorate of Philosophy in Law)
  11. A minimum score of 1250 in (Arabic EmSAT) for (for Doctorate of Philosophy in Law)

And then:

  • Submit an online application with the required documents.
  • Pay the application fee of 2000 AED + 5% VAT

NOTE:
