AU Students Join the Launch of the Pledge & Promise Initiative at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre

Ajman University students experienced a moment that will stay with them throughout their studies, careers, and future contributions to society. Through an invitation extended by Sandooq Al Watan and coordinated by the Office of Student Life, AU students attended the launch of the “Pledge & Promise” initiative—The Voice of the Citizens and Residents of the UAE in a Covenant of Loyalty and a Promise of Commitment. Held at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre under the patronage and presence of His Excellency Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the ceremony marked the presentation of a national pledge to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.  

More than 4,800 participants gathered for the occasion, bringing together citizens, residents, investors, academics, and students from across the country. Their collective presence reflected the values that have shaped the UAE’s success: unity, loyalty, gratitude, and a shared sense of purpose. More than a ceremonial gathering, the event underscored the importance of active citizenship and reaffirmed a commitment to supporting the nation’s growth, stability, and global leadership. For students, standing among that gathering was a reminder that belonging is expressed through contribution, not just identity. 

The event served as a reminder that building the future is a shared responsibility. For Ajman University, it was a call to turn inspiration into action by strengthening civic awareness, embracing accountability, and contributing to initiatives that support the UAE’s continued growth and development. This reinforced a powerful message of how unity remains one of the nation’s greatest strengths, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds around a common vision of progress, resilience, and opportunity. 

The key takeaway was that national pride is built through consistent, meaningful action. Whether through community service, student-led initiatives, research, innovation, or supporting others, each contribution plays a role in advancing the UAE’s future. The "Pledge & Promise" initiative reminded students that their academic and personal goals are inseparable from a broader responsibility — to contribute to a nation that continues to grow, lead, and inspire.
