Learning Outcomes Attainment

Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) Attainment

Insight

The results show that Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) are achieved across all colleges and programs, with attainment scores meeting or exceeding the minimum approved thresholds. At the college level, PLO attainment ranges from 84% to 88%, indicating consistently strong achievement across academic units.

At the program level, attainment scores range from 80% to 91%. The lowest program score remains at the graduate threshold of 80%, while several programs achieved scores close to or above 90%, reflecting strong alignment between curriculum delivery, assessment practices, and expected learning outcomes.

Overall, the results indicate that students are achieving the intended knowledge, skills, and competencies of their respective programs. The attainment results also support the University’s continuous improvement process by providing evidence for regular curriculum review, enhancement of teaching and assessment practices, and strengthening of student learning support.

Definition:

Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) Attainment measures the achievement of the intended outcomes of an academic program. PLOs reflect the knowledge, skills, and competencies that students are expected to demonstrate by the time they complete the program.

PLO attainment is assessed using:

  1. a) Average marks of students mapped to a PLO through CLO-based assessment
  2. b) Exit survey of senior students
  3. c) Employers’ survey
  4. d) Alumni survey

Formula

PLO Attainment Score=(Direct Assessment Score×0.80)+(Indirect Average Assessment Score×0.20)

Where: Indirect Average Assessment Score=(Exit Survey Score+Employer Survey Score+Alumni Survey Score)/3
