Fujairah Ruler Attends Commencement of AUST’s Fujairah Campus Class of 2013
His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, commended the active role played by the public and private higher education institutions and their positive contributions in educating young generations and empowering them to meet the needs of the knowledge society by making use of the latest technologies and knowhow to uphold the UAE’s advancement and progress. He also praised the excellent level attained by this sector, thanks to the unwavering support of H.H. Sheikh Khalifah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE President and H.H. Shiekh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
H.H. Sheikh Hamad was speaking at the commencement ceremony of class 2013 of Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST), Fujairah Campus.
The graduation exercise was attended by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hammad Al Sharqi, Fujairah Crown Prince and H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of UAE Bodybuilding Association, H.E. Saeed bin Mohammed Al Raqbani, Advisor of Fujairah Ruler, Osama Salman, AUST Vice President, and Khaled Salman, Member of AUST’s Board of Trustees.
Fujairah Ruler congratulated the graduating class on completing their degree requirements and called upon them to help in building their nation on strong grounds.
Osama Saeed Salman, AUST Vice President, said that UAE attained unparalleled and records breaking achievements over the last few years, thanks to the country’s wise leadership. Salman pointed out that this year’s ceremony coincides with the University’s Silver Jubilee and marks the 13th anniversary of the founding of AUST Fujairah Campus. Many people, spearheaded by UAE wise and visionary leadership, have contributed to the successful story of AUST since it was established 25 years ago. “AUST has excelled in its five domains of choice, education, research, training, expertise and practice and placed itself as one of the top institutions of higher education in the country,” he stressed. He said that Fujairah Campus has grown immensely since its inception 13 years ago and today it has 9 colleges, more than 2200 students in the various Bachelors and Postgraduate Diploma in Education and 4200 graduates.
The Vice-President extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Hamad for his unceasing support for this educational institution since its initial beginnings in Fujairah, and throughout all the stages of its development.
The graduates, in turn, via their commencement speaker, Abdullah Al Zuabi, conveyed their thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership and H.H. Sheikh Hamad for his unflagging support to the university and his contributions to the progress of education in general.
Fujairah Ruler conferred degrees to the graduates and honored top achievers among them. The Vice-President of Ajman University of Science and Technology presented a memento gift to H.H. Sheikh Hamad and a similar gift to his Crown Prince.
