Ajman University (AU), as part of its social responsibility initiatives, has organized a blood donation campaign in support of Thalassemia patients and accident victims.
The drive, was assumed by the Community Service Unit of the Community Engagement (AU), in collaboration with the Mobile Blood Bank of Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Services Center.
Blood donation has significantly helped save the lives of patients, mainly those suffering Thalassemia blood disorder. These are added to those suffering excessive bleeding in serious accidents and surgeries.
While the health benefits of donating blood are many, this regular campaign has attracted a big number of passionate students and staff who donated up to 66 units of blood.
Regular blood donation has proved to be efficient in improving emotional and physical well-being, reducing strokes, inducing bone marrow to produce new blood cells, and eliminating excess iron in the body.
