The Board of Trustees of Ajman University, headed by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, approved the budget of the University for the academic year 2018/2019. The Council adopted the lists of graduates of the first group of the twenty-eighth batch, which bears the slogan "Year of Tolerance" and granted them degrees. This group includes 338 men and women graduates in various programs that include the bachelor's and master's degrees. The University will celebrate their graduation next Monday.
The Council also adopted the new organizational structure of the University and the internal regulations of Thamer Fund for educational support and solidarity, restructuring the University faculties and the University's revised strategic plan. The Board agreed to include Dr. Karim Al-Saghir, University Chancellor, as a member of the Board of Trustees.
This came during a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University in the presence of Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Executive Committee and members Sheikh Abdul Aziz Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, HE Saeed Mohammed Al Raqbani, HE Abdullah bin Humaid Al Mazroui, HE Dr. Saeed Abdullah Hareb, at Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences & Exhibitions at the University in Al Jarf area.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness the Ruler of Ajman welcomed the members of the University's Board of Trustees and wished them success in achieving the University's goals and working on its mission.
He added that the achievements of this University are important for us to make sure that this Council is effective with your support and constructive contribution and to work on developing the University legislations and working methods in order to increase its effectiveness and achieve the desired goals.
Dr. Karim Al-Saghir, the University Chancellor, welcomed His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the other members of the Council. He also reviewed the international classifications obtained by the University, including Ajman University's ranking among the top 1,000 universities based on the QS World University Rankings 2019. The University was ranked among the top 150 academic institutions under 50 years of age according to the same global ranking as (Dubai / Sharjah / Ajman) ranked first in the Arab world and 61 globally as the best student destination.
He also reviewed the international accreditations obtained by some academic programs at the University. He said that the colleges of the University are seeking other international accreditations, pointing out the University's keenness to participate in most important international events and to provide outstanding projects and initiatives.
The University Chancellor pointed to the increase in the budget allocated to scientific research at the University by an estimated 25 percent and that the scientific research increased at the University by 2.5 percent. He indicated the lecture series launched by the University and hosted by a number of business leaders and speakers on the most important topics in the country.
