Ajman University Celebrates Excellence in Academia and Beyond at its Annual Honors Assembly Ceremony
In a grand celebration of academic and professional distinction, Ajman University (AU) honored its outstanding faculty, staff, students, alumni, and strategic partners at its Annual Excellence Awards Ceremony for the academic year 2022-2023. The prestigious event, held at Sheikh Zayed Centre for Conferences and Exhibitions, showcased AU’s commitment to recognizing and applauding exceptional contributions to its academic and professional journey.
Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of AU, graced the ceremony with his presence, along with other dignitaries. The event commenced with Dr. Seghir acknowledging the achievements of 26 distinguished members from the teaching and administrative bodies, including faculty members listed in Stanford University’s top 2% of scientists in the world. This recognition underlines AU’s dedication to research excellence and academic leadership.
Highlighting the university's commitment to its alumni, Aisha Salem Al Kaabi, a 2018 Mass Communication alumna, was awarded the Alumni Excellence in Engagement Award. Partners such as IFFCO received the Top Corporate Strategic Partner Award, while Yusuf Al Qanati from Al Ajmani Charity Foundation was honored as the Top Individual Strategic Partner. Furthermore, the Department of Land and Real Estate Regulation and Leader Healthcare Group were recognized as Top Employers in public and private sectors respectively, reflecting AU’s efforts in fostering strategic partnerships across various sectors and appreciating their role in supporting the journey of students and alumni.
Dr. Seghir, along with Dr. Nahla Al Qasimi, Dean of Student Affairs, presented over 500 students from diverse programs with gold, silver, and bronze medals, celebrating their academic excellence and dedication.
On this occasion, Dr. Seghir stated, “We take immense pride in the monumental achievements our university has recently accomplished. I seize this opportunity to extend my gratitude and appreciation to employers in both the private and public sectors, and all our partners, for their trust in our alumni and their continual support of our university. Their contribution is pivotal in enabling our alumni to demonstrate their competence and exceptional practical performance.”
He added, “This ceremony embodies the strategic goals of AU, focusing on supporting our outstanding students. It reflects our commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and achievement, enhancing a constructive competitive spirit to reach loftier academic and professional objectives.”
