Ajman University Women Empowerment Council Celebrates Emirati Women’s Day, Showcasing Inspiring Stories of Leadership and Success

The Ajman University Women Empowerment Council organized an event to mark Emirati Women’s Day, celebrating the role of Emirati women and their contributions across various fields, while highlighting inspiring examples of leadership, success, and achievement.

The event was attended by faculty and administrative staff and students. It opened with a cultural tour titled “Rooted in Heritage,” which highlighted aspects of Emirati heritage and identity, followed by the UAE national anthem and the recitation of Qur’anic verses. Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, delivered the opening remarks, followed by remarks from Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, Chair of the Ajman University Women Empowerment Council and Dean of Student Services.

The program also featured a video marking Emirati Women’s Day, followed by the “Voices of Impact” session, which featured H.E. Aisha Khamis Al Dhanhani, Member of the UAE Federal National Council, alongside a student address by Mouza Mohammed Alhamoudi, a Master’s student in the Department of Sociology at the College of Humanities and Sciences, who reflected on the experience of Emirati women and their role in society.

The event also featured a dialogue session titled “Empowering Voices: Lessons from an Emirati Woman Leader,” which featured a conversation with H.E. Aisha Khamis Al Dhanhani about her leadership journey and experience. The session was moderated by Dr. Aicha Ettaieb, Professor at the College of Humanities and Sciences at Ajman University.

The program further included a session titled “Behind the Pages: A Conversation with Ayesha Sultan,” featuring Emirati author Ayesha Sultan in a discussion about her personal experience and the relationship between literature, identity, and memory. The session was moderated by Dr. Amal Badr, Associate Professor at the College of Mass Communication at Ajman University.

The event concluded with a panel discussion titled “Success Stories of Emirati Women Students at Ajman University,” featuring students Ayesha Alali, Fatima Mohammed Saqer Alzaabi, and Mouza Mohammed Alhamoudi, who shared their academic and personal experiences and reflected on the opportunities provided by the University that have supported their aspirations and development.

The event reflected the Ajman University Women Empowerment Council’s commitment to providing a platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange, highlighting inspiring Emirati women and supporting women’s continued success and leadership in society.
