Ajman University Organizes ‘Ajman Beach Cleaning Campaign’

On the occasion of the World Environment Day, the Department of Community Service in Ajman University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, Ajman Police and Ajman Civil Defence, recently organized a campaign for cleaning Ajman beach area. Fifteen students from various AUST colleges and majors joined in the campaign.

The participants were involved in several cultural, sports and recreational activities aiming at raising the students’ environmental awareness and sense of responsibility for sustaining a clean and healthy environment, which would benefit the entire community. Following these activities, the students cleaned up the Ajman coastline, in a move that aimed at sensitizing the beach goers to the value of the place and the importance of keeping it clean and pristine.

The AUST Community Service Department pointed out that such initiative is meant to uphold students’ community participation and positive interaction with civil society stakeholders as well as contribute to inculcating and promoting the values of hygiene, environment protection and pro-environmental behavior among the younger generations.
