Ajman University of Science & Technology participated in an environment friendly campaign. No Plastic Bags Day held across the Emirates of Ajman witnessed remarkable participation from outlets and institutions.
Community Services department at AUST encouraged students to be an integral part of this campaign both on and off campus. To instill the valuable lesson of “No Plastic Bags” the students attended an awareness lecture delivered by Dr. Imad, Environmental consultant, Friends of Environment Association.
This year the “No Plastic” day was celebrated not only by abstaining from the use of plastic but also by conducting awareness session throughout the community. The main aim of this day was to launch a campaign to ensure in the near future “A city free of plastic bag”.
AUST students take their responsibility to the community very seriously and therefore have vowed to reduce the use of this material. The main risks of using plastic is not limited to humans alone, it harms the environment and the natural resources which are the rights of our future generations. Increased air pollution through toxic gases is also very harmful for humans and animals alike.
