Ajman University and Ajman Department of Finance Introduce the Professional Accounting Diploma

Ajman University of Science & Technology hosted lately an information session about the new professional accounting diploma that will be offered by Ajman Department of Finance through AUST Continuing Education Center.

The information session, attended by the program’s participants, opened with a speech by Mr. Marwan Al Ali, manager of government accounts in the DoF. Mr Marwan welcomed the attendees and pointed out that this training program is part of the implementation of the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmad bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, representative of Ajman Ruler for Administrative and Financial Affairs and chairman of the DoF. He noted that the diploma is part of the strategy of the Department of Finance to qualify the national employees working in the government sector to work in the financial sector within the different government department of Ajman. He added that the first edition of the program was met with encouraging participation from more than 40 UAE employees, who completed a 4-month training course on the fundamentals of administration, finance and accounting. They were initiated into corporate accounting, the UAE trade law and the government’s accounting system. Mr. Marwan Al Ali concluded that both the DoF and AUST are working tightly to continuously improve the program and enhance its outcomes.

Then Dr. Ahmed Ankit, Assistant to the University President for External Relations, addressed the participants, extending to them the greetings of the University President, Dr. Saeed Salman. He also praised the success the first edition met, and said that Ajman University, based on its threefold mission of education, information and investment and as part of its efforts to bridge the gap between academia and the local community, is keen on exerting its role as a center of expertise which deploys its capacities and expertise to develop the local human resources.

Dr. Mohamed Shami, Dean of the college of Business Administration, commanded the initiative of Ajman Department of Finance and noted that the University is dedicated to developing strong relations with both the private and public organizations.

A number of renovations were introduced to this year’s diploma. The program’s total hours were reduced and a comprehensive examination will be administered at the end of the program instead of last year’s program where end each course was followed by separate examination.
