AUST: FNC Forum raises political awareness

The UAE Federal National Council, in association with the UAE University, organized a forum on “Building Political Awareness in University Students”. The event, held at UAEU main campus in Al Ain, aimed at instilling political responsibility and awareness amongst higher education students and introducing them to the tools of political empowerment in the UAE.

A student delegation from Ajman University participated in the second session of the forum, which encompassed lectures and workshops that discussed the evolution of the social involvement in state affairs. The sturdy foundation laid by the late Shiekh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, encourages students and graduates to be part of the nation-building efforts. Their involvement is crucial and their interest in public affairs links education to society and its current affairs and issues.

AUST students from the College of Information, Mass Communication and Humanities expressed ecstatically that their participation at this forum enabled them to take a closer look into the activities of the FNC. Dr. Abdul-Haq Al Nuaimi, Acting Director of the Student Affairs Department, reiterated the attention and emphasis paid by Ajman University to promote students’ community awareness and political participation. “We eagerly promote the culture of active participation in public affairs through our students’ regular involvement in such activities” stressed Dr. Abdul-Haq.
