The Community Service Department in Ajman University of Science and Technology recently received a delegation from the Ajman Center of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development (ACMCYCD). The delegation was headed by Ms. Badria Al Hosani, Cultural Center Services Development Team Leader and Human Resources in-charge, and comprised Ms. Fatma Al Hosani, “Attae” Program Team Member, as well as Ms. Maryam Al Hammadi, Customer Service in-charge.

The visitors were received on behalf of the university by Dr. Abdulhak Basheer Al Nuaimi, Community Service Manager, who welcomed the visit of the ACMCYCD officials and thanked them for their constructive initiative towards AUST.

Dr. Al Nuaimi said that “Ajman University of Science and Technology, in line with its philosophy of bridging the gap between academia and the wider community, has always been keen on positively communicating and interacting with the local authorities and civic organizations. AUST strives to be a house of expertise whose mission is to serve the community and support its development and its prosperity.”

Ms. Badria Al Hosani stated that the aim of this visit is to introduce AUST students and staff members to the services, activities and events provided by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, in addition to promoting “Attae” voluntary program which is geared at raising awareness of the notions of volunteer action and social solidarity, and preparing an integrated training program to educate the youth and equip them with specialized volunteering skills.

The delegates briefed AUST officials about the ACMCYCD’s newly-created multimedia library, and the various services it offers to its visitors amongst students and the general public. This library is established with a view to boosting the cultural advancement of Ajman community.

At the end of the visit, the two parties expressed their utmost willingness to engage in mutual cooperation projects which would help achieving their common objectives in the area of community service.
