The Center for Inclusive Learning provides accessible, equitable, and inclusive academic experiences for students with self-disclosed disabilities through the following services:
Exam and Classroom Accommodations: Provided based on the type of disability and individual needs. Examples include extended time for exams and projects, access to presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint slides), enlarged exam printouts, front-row seating, and other tailored adjustments to support equitable learning.
Assistive Technology Services: Access to specialized tools and devices, including screen readers, Braille printers, voice-to-text software, and ergonomic equipment to assist students with visual, auditory, or mobility challenges. A variety of tools and devices are available for students to borrow throughout the semester to support their academic and mobility needs.
Testing in the Center: Students have the option to take their exams at the Center in a supportive, distraction-free environment.
Counseling and Academic Advising: Personalized one-on-one support, including psychological counseling and academic guidance, to promote emotional well-being and academic success.
Awareness Programs: Workshops and campaigns to foster understanding and inclusion across campus.
Scholarship for People of Determination: AU offers a dedicated scholarship for students of determination to promote educational equity, encourage enrollment, and support their academic and career growth.
Parental Counseling: Provides support and guidance to parents of students, helping them understand the academic environment, support their child’s educational journey, and foster effective collaboration with the institution.
