The College of Dentistry Celebrates World Oral Health Day at the British International Private School

In celebration of World Oral Health Day, the College of Dentistry at Ajman University organized an interactive outreach event at the British International Private School in Ajman, with the participation of the Ajman University Mobile Dental Clinic. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of oral health care and promote preventive practices among students.

The event witnessed wide participation from students and teachers, as the clinic team—comprising faculty members and dental students—provided free comprehensive dental check-ups along with educational guidance on daily oral hygiene practices, such as proper brushing and flossing, while highlighting the connection between oral health and overall well-being.

The activity also featured interactive sessions and educational demonstrations led by the students, focusing on preventing tooth decay and gum diseases, and maintaining healthy eating habits to support strong teeth. Children also participated in fun, hands-on learning activities designed to instill healthy habits from an early age. It is worth noting that World Oral Health Day is celebrated annually on March 20, under the supervision of the World Dental Federation (FDI), to promote awareness of oral health and disease prevention. The day emphasizes the vital link between oral health and general health, encouraging individuals to adopt daily hygiene practices and regular dental check-ups as part of a healthy lifestyle.

This initiative reflects Ajman University’s commitment to community engagement and health promotion, emphasizing the integration of academic learning with social responsibility. Through such field initiatives, the College of Dentistry reaffirms its dedication to preparing competent future professionals who actively contribute to improving community health and enhancing quality of life, in line with the University’s vision for sustainable development and a healthier society.
