The Counseling Unit Celebrates Friendship and Tolerance in the “Best Buddy” Event

As part of Ajman University’s celebration of the International Day for Tolerance, the Counseling Unit organized the “Best Buddy” event, aimed at promoting the values of friendship, appreciation, and tolerance among students, while fostering a culture of gratitude and mutual support within a campus environment built on respect and acceptance.

The event brought students together in a warm and positive atmosphere, giving them the opportunity to nominate their close friends to be honored as “Best Buddies.” The moments of recognition were filled with surprise and emotion, as touching video messages were shown in which students expressed heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to their friends, adding a deeply human and meaningful touch to the event.

As part of the celebration, symbolic personalized gifts were presented to the honored students, a simple gesture meant to bring joy to their hearts and strengthen bonds of friendship and loyalty.

The International Day for Tolerance, observed annually on November 16, is a global initiative launched by UNESCO to promote values of tolerance, respect, and mutual understanding among individuals and communities. It highlights the importance of accepting others, embracing cultural and intellectual diversity, and rejecting all forms of discrimination and prejudice, with the goal of building more peaceful and inclusive societies.

This event reflects Ajman University’s commitment to fostering human connection and positive coexistence among its students within an educational environment that embraces cultural and intellectual diversity. It also highlights the university’s dedication to empowering students to express themselves freely and build relationships based on mutual respect and appreciation.
