AUST Students Visit Dubai Media City

15 students from the College of Information, Mass Communication and Humanities of Ajman University of Science & Technology visited recently Omnicom, a marketing and advertising company based in Dubai Media City. The students were accompanied by Dr Maha Abdulmajid, faculty member from in the college.

The visit represented a form of field training for the participating students who were given the opportunity to experience firsthand working in a media company, and how to deal with customers. AUST students were given access to the company’s facilities and were introduced to equipments and techniques used in the daily operation of a media company.

The students were later dispatched among the company’s departments where they were assisted and trained by Omnicom’s employees on how to deal with the daily pressure at work and behave in difficult situations.

Mrs. Noor Shaghouri, the visit’s coordinator from the Department of Community Service, pointed out that this visit is part of AUST “Career Day” program, the goal of which is to develop the students’ professional and practical skills in their fields of study.
