The registration of new students still continues at the Departments of the College of Engineering, namely Electrical Engineering, with its three majors (Electronics, Communication, and Instrumentation and Control), and Biomedical Engineering. At the same time, more than 150 senior students from the same Departments have joined a two-week intensive training program that will be supervised by the faculty members and attended by a number of companies and institutions specialized in electronics, communication, and biomedical engineering in various emirates in the UAE.
The Program aims to prepare students for training at these institutions during the summer vacation, with an emphasis on practical skills and expertise that the students need to access the labor market with merit and self-confidence.
Prof. Fahr Hayati, Dean of the College of Engineering, stressed that the College attaches great importance to the practical aspect of students through urging them to attend such training programs. Prof. Hayati added that the substantial role of this training program consists in motivating students to deal positively with the academic activities within the university and enhance their ability to properly link theoretical knowledge with the needs of the labor market and the know-how skills.
